Pet Anxiety
Does your pet have issues with visitors, known or strangers, or loud traffic noises, stormy weather, our July 4th celebration fireworks? Read “July 4th Pet Safety”. Do they hide, or show aggression, or shake and shiver, or try to make theirselves smaller? Does your fur bud or feathered friend exhibit strange behavior when people come to see you or when they are with you outside your home?
With holidays looming and planning get togethers, the time is here to help our pet buddies loosen up a bit. Especially when July 4th celebration noises and startling lights cause many pets to flee and we experience so many lost pets from either being brought to our celebrations or not being safely secured inside during our celebrations.
There are quite a number of remedies on the market for our pets with anxiety now. I have written about this subject more than once. Take a look at an older post entitled “Pet Anxiety Symptoms and Aids”.
Anxiety Pet Products – all USA-made
Anxiety Vests
Here is a simple solution for many pets to feel more confident and cared for. See my story “Does your pet suffer from Anxiety?”
The anxiety vest pictured above is from Healers Pet Care of Vancouver, WA. It is a lightweight, breathable help for your pet baby and all USA-made and sourced. This wrap is also easy on and off and washable. And, if you read my story mentioned above you know how well these vests work to give your pet friend the ‘hug’ they need to feel more self-assured.
CBD/Hemp Credibility
Checking with the Humane Society, note that they believe the use of CBD for our pets is safe and does help to reduce pain and chronic arthritis. They do caution to check with your vet about using hemp or cbd products for your pet. Also to check with your vet on the dosage amount for your pet based on their weight, age, and medical condition. And make sure that the product is THC-free or has no Marijuana ingredient.
The Veterinary Cannabis Society provides education on cannibis usage. The FDA, they report, has been considering working with Congress on potential regulatory pathways for CBD products.
Pet Age reports that CBD use continues to soar. Pet parents, however, need to check on the dosage amount good for their particular pet and on the brand ingredients and percentages with their vet. In a recent article they also stress to use ‘organic’ products as the use of insecticides, etc. can harm the product usefulness.

Prospect Farms of Maine produces calming and mobility drops for both cats and dogs. Their products are USDA certified organic.
Fab CBD of Milwaukee, Wisconsin was touted in 2022 as one of the best dog cbd hemp oils by Forbes. Also starred by Forbes was Nuleaf Naturals of Denver, Colorado with their organic hemp oil and balm pet products.
Kadenwood of Newport Beach, California with their Purity Preferred brand for cats and dogs was featured by Discover and Pet Product News in 2022.
Suzie’s Pet Treats of Colorado is listed with USDA certified organic cat cbd bits, dog drops, and treats with ingredients listed on their site.
Charlotte’s Web of Colorado offers hemp calming chews and oil for dogs.
Healing Essence of California provides an oil named Calm Pet Tincture.
Honest Paws of League, Texas offers their hemp oil.
And the last I am going to mention is Selah Organics of Colorado and their cbd oils.
There are quite a large number of companies in this pet CBD market. The only ones I have mentioned or will mention are all USA-made. Not to say there are not more available to you, but these are the ones I have investigated todate.
Treat Balls, Treat Dispensers, Treat Puzzles, & Lick Mats
For separation anxiety and alone time activity there are many treat type gadgets available for our best pet friends. Several USA-made pet product companies offer these. See below for some of those names.
West Paw of Bozeman, Montana offers tough, safe, non-toxic treat dispensers and chew toys.
Farm to Pet of Chicago, Illinois produces dog and cat treats with no fillers, additives, or preservatives. Their specialty is a single ingredient chip available in four flavors.
Soda Pup of Denver, Colorado provides a large variety of licks mats and treat dispensers with a 30 day guarantee for replacement.
Catamazing of Fort Lee, New Jersey makes fun treat puzzles and slow feeders for cats.
Chasing our Tails of Minnota, Minnesota offers all natural dog treats, freeze dried, dehydrated, and one ingredient.
If you have a pet bird, Hoot ‘n Holler Bird Toys of Alabama produces an activity foraging toy especially for parrots.
Any good ‘attention grabbing’ toy is good to help keep your pet friends occupied when you are out, particularly those with separation anxiety.
Find the anxiety product that works for your pet. At least one of those mentioned here will be a good fit, or maybe your pet needs both a vest and a treat dispenser?
