Before February comes to a close, I want to mention our fun and important care celebrations designated for this period of time. Some of the pet care info I have already brought to your attention and I will link back to those articles for easy reviewing.
Dog Training & Education Month
I recently posted about the best tips for training our pets which you can review here. You will find many good training books available on Amazon for your doggo. Spay / Neuter Awareness Month
This is to promote pet ownership responsibility in controlling our pet population and the ever-increasing number of homeless pets.
Pet Dental Health Month
I have several articles to refer you to on our pets’ dental health…a most important topic to preserve our pets’ health. Most have a problem with their teeth by age 3 with periodontal disease already sneaking in. See how to prevent this disease here. Then you can check out dental insurance information.
Responsible Pet Owners Month
This is one for every month actually…to ensure our pets have nutritional food, annual vet check-ups, training, socialization, and our attention and participation in activities with them. Keeping them warm and safe and loved as a family member.
Now for a few specific dates:
Feb. 2 – National Brown Dog Day –
A day for bestowing special love to all brown dog breeds, the Labrador being a very popular one. So for any brown to caramel colored dog you may know it is time to give them some very special treats…even tho the day has passed…LOL!
Feb. 3 – Doggy Date Night –
Even though we are late, it is time to share special time and activity with your doggo. Find a restaurant with a dog-friendly patio; take your fur bud to a new dog park, or come up with a new training adventure, or hiking route.
Feb. 20 – National Love your Pet Day
Well, again, this is for every day, but show your doggy, your kitty, your birdy, or swimming buds some special love to honor their day…a new yummy treat or toy will do.
Feb. 22 – Walking the Dog Day
As said previously, this is every day we hope! But perhaps an extra special walk in a new park or hiking area is in order. Does your canine need some new walking gear? Harness? Booties for protecting paws? Warm coat or rain coat for colder weather?
Feb. 23 – National Dog Biscuit Day
This is pretty easy…a favorite dog biscuit, maybe, more than one..or two! Try USA-made natural dog biscuits by Chasing our Tails.
