Pet Training
Pet training and education is something I was not good at with my doggo or with even finding a pro group to help him in that regard. That was before all my computer access unfortunately. How are you at training your pets?
I have learned of and found many great professional sites and organizations to be of great assistance with pet training since that time. And, since that is a subject designated for our pets during February, you will find several training resources below for your cats, dogs, and your pet birds.
Training is the best for keeping your pets engaged, alert, and growing through a healthy confidence-building lifestyle. Just like us, they need that positive interaction to learn and enjoy a happy life.
Training Online Sites for your Kitty

The Humane Society of the United States offers a free e-book with training tips for both your kitty and your doggy. It is a 27-page book with training article links. Click the link above to download a copy for yourself.
Maddie’s Fund.org has an online course and quiz you can take to learn more about your feline friend and good training techniques. This is another free resource.
CatSchool.co is headed by an Associate Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist, Julie, who started Cat School in 2004 after training her own cats. She offers online tutorials in clicker training, problem correction training, leash training, and more. You can subscribe for just $25.00 per month.
Tufts Catnip.com from Tufts University in Connecticut provides a newsletter for just $20 annually with tons of info for caring for and training your kitty cat.
Training Online Sites for your Canines

The Spruce Pets review site has named their top eight picks for dog training courses for 2024 with the below stated reasons for each.
- Sirius Dog Training they choose as best overall. This is a live online training program using Zoom. Dr. Ian Dunbar developed Sirius for puppies and dogs back in 1982. Classes are offered in sets of five 50-minute training sessions running $200.
- Chosen for the best budget is Petco. They also offer classes through Zoom as well as in-store training. Three Zoom training sessions run about $129.
- You can work through All Day Dog Adventures from Montana on Zoom too. This group was chosen for the most variety of training classes offered. Their classes start at $100 with four to six once-a-week sessions. One on one and group sessions are available.
- Picked as best video series is Zak George’s Dog Training Revolution. This is not a usual class but many free U-Tube videos which you can organize into a step-by-step program. He has millions of subscribers.
- Dogmatics is chosen for best membership program. This San Diego dog trainer has free videos on UTube’s Kikopup as a good starting point. But for more indepth training, Spruce suggests her Dogmatics membership plan offering original weekly videos. Packages starting at $29 to $49.
- Fenzi Dog Sports Academy is picked as the best to revisit materials. They give you a year after completing your training package to revisit the material and go over the training courses. The course normally takes six weeks to complete and runs between $65 and $260.
- Peach on a Leash Dog Training and Behavior Services equals their best customizable choice. Their trainers will follow up with you to answer any questions and you can concentrate on whatever area your dog needs most. This Alpharetta, Georgia organization’s individualized packages start at $379.
- Best for puppies is Puppies Trained Right.com. For the best training start and access to the video training information for one year, the cost runs about $299.

Thanks for all the training info. Maybe my daughter can use some of the tips for her cat. He is about 10 months old and has been learning to walk on a leash. The videos were great. Jurassic Cat made me laugh!
