Training our pets can be a handful. What is great is all the help available online to assist us in training our pet cats, dogs, and our feathered friends. I wrote and commented on several online groups reviewed in 2024. It is time to update our info with more current resources. I am in the midst of trying to train my 3-year-old kitty…and help I do need!

As mentioned in my previous article, training is our best way to keep our pets engaged and alert. That positive interaction keeps them happy and confident when learning.

Avian Behaviour Lab is in southern California, founded in 2013. They offer 9 levels of learning how to train and live with your pet bird. You have acess to their instructors and members through Facebook and in their step-by-step course workbooks and bi-monthly live webinar sessions. Membership starts at $39 monthly. You can also opt for a 14-day free trial membership.

You can find good basic bird training info and resource links on Best Friends Animal Society site. They have free articles on petting a bird, reading a bird’s body language, and more.
