With National Puppy & Cuddly Kitten Day celebrated on March 23rd, it is important to also mention that special attention is given to National Poison Prevention Awareness all week long during the third full week of March. Please refer to my post: “National Poison Prevention Awareness” from 2023.

Take note of all the foods that are harmful to your puppy and your kitty. Many are foods you would not suspect. In that post you will also find several natural foods your pup or kitten can safely enjoy and those can be great inexpensive treats too.

If you are just now considering adopting a delightful puppy or an oh-so-cuddly kitten, check out the many questions you need to answer before doing so in my post: “Pet Adoption Questions“. Here you will also find a list of many items you will need for your new fur buddy.

Some rescue/adoption options can be found in “Adopt a Pet!”. I do hope you will ‘rescue’ a kitten or new puppy since there are so many adorable fur babies available through your local rescue groups in need of a good forever home.

Ways to Celebrate with your Puppy or Kitty

  • Adopt a second fur buddy.
  • Donate to a local shelter.
  • Plan an extra special outing with your fur babe.
  • Get them groomed and fit with a new winter coat for a nice walk, and booties to protect their paws.
  • Purchase some good natural USA-made treats and use to teach your fur bud a new trick.
  • If you have a kitty, treat them with a window lounge or, even better, a catico!
  • If you have a doggo, provide them with a new comfy USA-made bed.
  • A new toy to keep their attention is a great idea (see my USA-made category on my Welcome Page).
  • Consider fostering a puppy or kitty.
  • Volunteer your services at a local shelter.
  • Have a party for your friends and their fur buds and socialize your furry friend.

Training Resources

Tufts University, Cummings Veterinary College is one of the top veterinarian schools in the world. Go to vet.tufts.edu./cats or dogs/ etc. for good info.

Maddies Fund.org provides online kitty classes and continuing informational articles to learn all about your kitty.

Dogtopia.com is a fun place to bring your doggo for day care and socialization.

See my post: “Train your Dog” for some good training tips.

A good online site for puppy training is Puppy Trained Right.com.

And, of course, the AKC for puppy info on training is a great choice.

Decide how to celebrate with your adorable puppy or your very cuddly kitten and go for it! Enjoy the day with your fur babies.

Funny Animal Videos

Big Geek Daddy sends us a fun video about puppies and dogs.

Next up is about lucky puppies.

And last we have why cats are like toddlers.
