Sea Turtle Week

One of June pet events, Sea Turtle Week, is already underway this year. Starting with World Ocean Day on the Sunday of the second full week of June and continuing through the week to end with Sea Turtle Day. The entire week is devoted to bringing our attention to the conservation of Sea Turtles and Tortoises and the need of cleaning up pollution and objects that entangle and harm sea turtles and other endangered ocean creatures.

See my post entitled “May 23rd – World Turtle Day” for turtle facts, the differences between sea turtles and tortoises, and different types of each. You will also find some good conservation info there.

Take your Pet to Work Week

Coming right up June 16 thru the 20th is our “take your pet to work week” with the 16th designated especially for cats and the 20th for our dogs. See more information from Pet Sitters International.

This group advises to get permission from your workplace if it is not owned by you and to be sure to bring whatever objects may be needed to keep your pet comfortable. Or if not advisable at your place of work, plan an after work pet picnic with your co-workers and friends. Meet at a park with separate locations or times for cats, dogs, birds. Maybe just exchange aquarium pictures. I include birds since they are easily transported. Remember to bring a picnic basket. Don’t forget pet treats!

Some smaller celebration ideas include sharing pictures with your workmates. Maybe bring your pet buds a nice ‘home from work’ treat and give them a special play time or walk. You can see some yummy USA-made treat suggestions in my post “Tis the Season for Spoiling our Pets”.

In any event make your plans and do it up small, large, or whatever works to celebrate with your pet buds.

Enjoy, compliments of Big Geek Daddy, a happy dog.

Next in line is about music for turtles.

Last shows a beautiful bobcat!

  1. We are down in Siesta Key FL currently and there are many roped off turtle nests along the beach 😊😊
