With reference to our recent Rainbow Day when we remember our beloved passed pets, I am updating Pet Memorial information on all the pet cemeteries throughout the USA together with burial, cremation, and memorial services available locally and beyond. This is a guide for honoring and remembering our sorely missed pets. A memorial service, online, a formal burial, or just a keepsake urn, commemorative plaque, or piece of jewelry helps our grieving process. Following are the services I have found locally in Oregon and a great comprehensive directory across the United States.
Oregon Pet Cemeteries
Oregon Humane Society
They have no additional burial space in the cemetery at present but offer cremation and euthanasia services at their Portland and Salem, Oregon campuses. They also have columbarium areas in both locations for your commemorative urn or plaque.
Great River Natural Burial (Paws in Peace Cemetery)
This organization is located in the Oregon City, OR area and offers dedicated plots with side-by-side human burial.
Green Acres Pet Cemetery & Crematorium
Green Acres (pictured above) is located in Medford, OR at the base of Roxy Ann Butte. They provide cremation, memorial services, onsite burials, markers, urns, and memorial keepsakes for smaller animals. They also provide burials for larger animals, ie, horses and mules.
Forest Pet Cemetery

This is Oregon’s first dedicated green burial cemetery: the Forest Conservaton Burial Ground. It was established in 2020 in Ashland, Oregon and is located at the southern Oregon Willard-Witt Ranch. They provide markers and burials.
Pathways Pet Memorial Gardens
Pathways is located at the Oregon coast in Lincoln City. They offer cremation and burial services, and a collection of wood urns.
Treehaven Pet Cemetery
Treehaven is located in eastern Oregon in the Pendleton area. They offer burials and services as well as end of life pet memorials and monuments.
USA Cemeteries
Pet Memory Shop.com
This organization lists a comprehensive pet cemetery directory with just under 150 pet cemeteries throughout the United States. It is listed by state and updated to April 2024. Their Oregon list is not quite up to date so your best option is to double check your local area. They also offer a very large amount of pet memorial products, including pet burial markers and caskets.

The most interesting and memorable cemetery mentioned in the USA directory is Hartsdale Pet Cemetery in New York. It is listed as a historic site from the late 1800s with over 80,000 animals’ resting places of just about every group you can imagine.
Cremation Services & Commemorative Products & Keepsakes
There are many organizations available for cremation, euthanasia, memorial services, and keepsake memorial products. A few in Oregon are mentioned below.

Compassionate Care
This group is headed by a veterinarian and is located in Portland and Oregon City. Their mobile service area includes Portland and surrounding areas, Salem, Oregon, and Vancouver, Washington. They offer an in-home consultation and euthanasia for cats, dogs, and other small animals along with cremation and aquamation services.
Dignified Pet Services
This service operates in the greater Portland, Oregon area as well as the Willamette Valley, Central Oregon, the Coast, and SW Washington. They offer both private and communal cremation and memorial services for small and larger animals, as well as home euthanasia. Keepsake items such as clay or ink paw prints are available here too. This group also offers an annual remembrance celebration and ask that you submit a photo of your pet to be included.

Family Animal Services
The Family group offers individual, viewing, and communal cremation. They have several keepsake and memorial products to choose from, including paw print urns. Family Animal Services is located in North Portland.
Forever Friends Pet Cremations
Forever Friends serves southern Oregon and the Rogue Valley. This organization provides private cremation services along with your choice of urn and a number of commemorative products.
West Coast Pet Memorial
West Coast Pet has services in Portland, OR and offers private and individual cremations, online memorials, and several memorial products. This company has several pet cemeteries located in California, Nevada, and Washington and offer funeral and burial services at those locations.

Writing about my pets has been cathartic for me. See my post entitled: “Pet Ramblings on all My Pets” and individual stories under the category “My Pets” listed on my Welcome page. I still keep my Dog Morgan’s clay paw print by his picture.
I hope the above information will be of use and help to you in your grieving time of losing a beloved pet.
Thanks
