Here comes our Howl-o-ween again! Such a fun time with jack o’lanterns and spooky decorations all around. So I am here to wish you all very happy Howl-o-ween celebrations with your pets.

Little Goblins

Little goblins will soon be knocking at your door for trick or treats…many with their pets tagging along all dressed up with reindeer ears and witches hats. That is when it is fun to dress up yourself. Answer your door sporting a great clown mask lending a bit more to the occasion as you pass out chocolate covered caramel eyeballs and marshmallow monsters.

Costume Parties

Costume parties will abound too. By now there will be few costume choices available. If you have none yet, throw together an all white sheet and get your shears out for eye and arm holes. Find some white slippers and you are set.

Care that no fur babes escape

Do take care of your pets when opening your door though. This is a time they may be frightened and try to escape out the door. Our kitties are quite silent slipping out a door..so take special caution, and for all of your small fur babes.

Pumpkin uses a plenty

Yep, you can see pumpkins on almost every doorstep with Halloween coming on soon! And you can see some very fun carving ideas and creative scary painted faces too. Contests for the best carved pumpkins flourish at this time of year. But pumpkins are good for so much more than decoration.

Pumpkin use list

  • Pumpkin Pie – my favorite.
  • Pumpkin Bread
  • Pumpkin Cookies
  • Pumpkin can be roasted, mashed, pureed… used not only in desserts but also soups, snacks like hummus, and with pasta as a savory dish.
  • Pumpkin for our Pets. Did you know a bit of pumpkin added to your fur friend’s food is good for their digestion. It even helps kitties with their hairball problem. You just need to take into consideration their size and weight so you do not overdo it and cause diarrhea. Good to check with your vet on this. Also be sure to use pureed pumpkin and not pumpkin pie makings with all those spices included…definitely not good for your fur baby!
  • Pumpkin has plenty of fiber, good A and C vitamins, and antioxidants so also good for human digestion.

  • Pumpkin farming crops.
  • Pumpkin fields for Halloween adventure.
  • Roast the pumpkin seeds for a healthy snack.
  • Add pumpkin to your compost.
  • Try a pumpkin latte or maybe some pumpkin ice cream…pumpkin cheesecake!
  • Roast the insides to make vegetable stock.

Let me know in the comments area below on the left of any other pumpkin use ideas you have. I would love to share them with other readers.
